The Yerevan Police have carried out the "Let’s clean the environment from drug addicts" operation and arrested a state official.

According to Shamshyan.com, on November 22, police detained several persons at Yerevan Vernissage on suspicion of possession and use of drugs.

Three of them were later released on a signature bond, whereas another one of them, Artur Hayrapetyan, 50, who works as head of the department for the Environmental and Natural Resources Inspectorate, was arrested.

A number of forensic examinations have been ordered.

Police are preparing a report on this case.
