According to Pastinfo Armenian newspaper, the United States Federal Bureau of Investigators (FBI) is interested in opening an office in Yerevan.

“As reported earlier, an FBI agent, who is originally Armenian, traveled from California to Yerevan back in August of this year. He stayed for about three months and returned to the US a couple of days ago. Based on our information, during the past three months, the FBI agent has had meetings with Armenia’s law-enforcement authorities and established contacts.

The FBI has a representation in the region with an office located in Tbilisi, but it might open an office in Yerevan to make the cooperation more effective. During the stay in Armenia, the FBI agent established cooperation mechanisms that can be useful for opening the new office,” as reported on the newspaper’s website.
