Turkey intends to resolve the disagreements with the US over the purchase and exploitation of the Russian S-400s before April 2020. This is what President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan told journalists accompanying him on his trip to Qatar Tuesday, reports TASS.
“The work will be done before April 2020, and the efforts will be led by our country’s defense and foreign ministers. This is an issue that concerns NATO. It’s not about Turkey using the S-400s, but there are steps that need to be taken within the scope of NATO rules,” the President said, reports Haberturk.
The Turkish President stated that during his recent visit to the US, the sides decided to set up a Turkish-American task force to solve the issues related to the use of the Russian S-400s. Erdogan considered the agreement on consideration of the issue “the most positive result of the talks” held in the US on November 13.
