YEREVAN. – We have been able to reach some agreement with the Ministry of Health of Armenia on a number of issues related to the legislative package on the fight against smoking. Babken Tunyan, a member of the majority My Step faction in the National Assembly (NA) and chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, said this during the committee’s debate on a package of bills and related laws on reducing and preventing health risk from the use of cigarette products and their substitutes.

According to him, Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan has agreed to make a number of concessions in this law package.

"In addition, we have agreed that all points that contradict, or will subsequently contradict, the EEU technical regulation, will be removed," Tunyan added.
