The Water Committee of Armenia and the Institute of Water Problems and Hydro-Engineering after I. V. Yeghiazarov today signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding, the aim of which is to ensure effective cooperation between the Water Committee and the Institute, reports the news service of the Water Committee.

Vice-Chairman of the Water Committee Harutyun Gulyan attached importance to the Institute’s scientific potential and voiced hope that the signing of this memorandum will serve as the launch for effective and comprehensive cooperation. He also stated that the Institute has to work on the education and training of specialists in the field of water systems management. In his turn, the Institute’s representative, P. Baljyan greeted the attendees and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation, mentioning that his team is willing to share its knowledge and experience.

The memorandum stipulates that the parties agree to combine their efforts, resources and experience and cooperate in order to inspect hydrocircuits to ensure safety and effective operation of water systems, identify problems and discuss solutions to eliminate them and implement programs of bilateral interest, etc.  The Institute will carry out works to develop and improve hydro-engineering structures, conduct laboratory experiments, etc.
