Through their combined efforts, the Police and National Security Service of Armenia obtained factual data according to which an inspector of the authorization system of the Armavir Division of the Police of Armenia demanded a bribe of AMD 55,000 from a citizen to prepare the required documents for legalization of a man's illegal firearm and to register the firearm based on those documents and in the prescribed manner, reports the news service of the Police of Armenia.

Through operational intelligence measures, police officers caught and apprehended the inspector of the authorization system of the Armavir Police Division right after obtaining AMD 25,000 of the AMD 55,000 that served as the object for bribery.

A criminal case has been instituted and forwarded to the Special Investigation Service.

The police officer is under arrest.
