YEREVAN. - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will not make concessions to hold snap presidential elections, Vice Chairman of “Heritage” party Ruben Hakobyan told reporters on Monday, commenting on the dialogue between authorities and oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC).

He stressed that the ANC has been demanding both snap presidential and parliamentary elections, since it was established. However, today the ANC has lowered the bar and agreed to hold early parliamentary elections only.

“Armenian first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan is trying to show that the Armenian authorities are making concessions under ANC’s pressure with the help of some manipulations. However, this deal is of benefit to both sides,” Hakobyan said.

According to him the ANC leader has understood that his supporters prevent him from carrying out a revolution without blood, as Ter-Petrosyan’s agreement will bring to a new “March 1”. He entered into dialogue with the authorities to break an impasse.

Commenting on the question whether there is agreement on Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s nomination in 2013 presidential elections, Hakobyan did not give a precise answer.
