YEREVAN. – Head of the ruling Republican parliamentary group Galust Sahakyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that authorities are ready for dialogue with any political force, including the opposition.

Sahakyan replied to the statement issued by the opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan during April 8 rally of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) in Yerevan.

“We are ready for a dialogue with the opposition but we should specify the range of issues. On the whole ANC’s demands can be satisfied within the law,” Sahakyan said. “As to ANC’s accusations against authorities regarding March 1, 1998 events, we have to make clear who is to blame. I believe blame falls on those who organized mass protests. In this regard the ANC should accept its responsibility.”

In his speech Ter-Petrosyan said unless demands of the opposition are satisfied, April 28 will become a day of a final rupture of relations between the authorities and society.
