YEREVAN. - The Armenian national currency goes on depreciating on NASDAQ OMX Armenia.

The average AMD/USD exchange rate on Monday was AMD 375.98 per $1, reaching AMD 376 per $1 in some cases. A total of $4.2 million were sold.

The US Dollar has shown 0.42% appreciation as compared with last Friday transactions. Exchange offices registered a US Dollar exchange rate appreciation as well. By 5:45 p.m. local time, the highest exchange rate had been recorded at the VTB Bank, AMD 375 per $1. US Dollars in the cash are sold at an exchange rate of AMP 377 per $1.

Given the wide margins of fluctuation, the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) is unlikely to have interfered in today’s transactions. Last week, the CBA sold $15.7 million, without reaching the desired results.
