Of the 10 issues submitted for consideration by the Armenian parliament, the main part concerns four loan agreements, one ratification of the convention, and the remaining issues provide for legislative changes, said Finance Deputy Minister Armen Hayrapetyan at the Armenian parliament on Thursday.
According to him, the haste is caused by the fact that the Government wants to quickly complete the work remaining this year.
The loan agreements submitted for consideration by the parliament will make it possible to raise an additional $ 152 million to cover the current budget deficit, he noted adding that even when signing this agreement, it will take two weeks until these funds are fully provided to government. The official also assured MPs that they would try to do everything possible to obtain these funds from external creditors as soon as possible.
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, when he was an oppositionist, opposed the attraction of foreign loans by the authorities.
