YEREVAN. - Representatives of 22 Chinese companies participated in Armenian-Chinese business forum held in Yerevan on Monday.

Addressing the participants, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee’s Political Bureau Li Changchun said Chinese government is ready to contribute to Armenia’s import but called on the Armenian businessmen to be more active.

Changchun said he was impressed by Ararat brandy. He was surprised to find out that Armenian brandy and grapes is not sold in the Chinese market.

Despite the fact that the Armenian-Chinese economic cooperation has increased dramatically (trade turnover made $436 million in 2010, growing by 40% as compared to previous year), Chinese official said current level of cooperation is not satisfactory.

Armenian Prime Minister also stressed there is a great potential for development of Armenian-Chinese cooperation. He also mentioned several priority fields.
