YEREVAN. – Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan said municipality has no intention to ban trading in the territory of “vernissage”, famous Yerevan spot located near Republic square where souvenirs, paintings and books are sold.
Karapetyan noted municipality called on renter to fulfill treaty obligations providing for territory’s landscaping and protection.
He reiterated that “vernissage” will not be closed as it is one of the favorite tourist places where Armenian souvenirs are sold. However, renter and traders should accept the rules. They must not occupy lawns and not pollute the environment, he added.
