YEREVAN. – Armenia’s government, led Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, today discussed the Education, Science, Culture and Sport Ministry’s request for 2020 budget allocations.

The discussion was held regarding the Ministry’s priorities, key challenges, measures, and reforms for the coming year.

Accordingly, the funds to be allocated next year to science in Armenia will increase by 17% and total 1.5 billion drams, which is unprecedented compared to the allocations made so far.

Over 4 billion drams have been allocated to Armenia’s sport for the next year and within this framework three dozen events are planned.

It was also informed that the process of downsizing the service vehicles is ongoing at the Ministry, and, as a result, solely 8 of the ministry’s 19 service cars are still at the Ministry’s balance.

The Prime Minister attached importance to respective downsizing, and gave specific instructions.
