French former Ambassador to Armenia Serge Smessow was appointed Ambassador of France to Eastern Partnership and Black Sea region.
This appointment reconfirms France’s assistance in strengthening relations between eastern neighbors and the EU, French Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Smessow, 64, is an experienced diplomat and has a good notion of the region, as he previously served as Ambassador of France to Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia.
