YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan sent a condolence letter to his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, the presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
In his letter the Armenian President offered his sincere condolences to President of Belarus on victims and injured in Minsk subway blast on Monday. He stressed, Armenia is ready to provide treatment to the injured at Yerevan’s medical institutions.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a blast rocked Oktyabrskaya subway station in Minsk during evening rush hour Monday killing 11 people and wounding 150, 26 of them severely. The bomb was planted under a bench in the subway’s only transfer station.
Oktyabrskaya is the busiest metro station, which is located near the residence of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. The explosive device went off as two trains were arriving at the station, where two metro lines intersect.
A citizen of Armenia Samvel Sahakyan was also injured in the blast. He is receiving treatment at 9th otolaryngology hospital in Minsk.
