YEREVAN. - World Bank experts are studying development prospects in Armenia’s forest management sector. On Tuesday, the results were submitted to Armenian Vice-Premier Armen Gevorgyan, who is also Chairman of the State Forest Monitoring Committee.
The vice-premier-chaired meeting discussed the study results and stressed the responsibility of the Armforest organization and the importance of using alternative energy sources. The document will be finalized and submitted to the relevant agencies within the next few weeks.
Vice-Premier Gevorgyan said the government is determined to resolve forest management problems, which is the reason for severe legal measures. The Armenian Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Nature Protection and other officials participated in the meeting.
