Construction of solar photovoltaic systems has been launched in the area near the municipality and cultural center of the city of Aparan, and the city will have two solar power plants early next year, as reported the Foundation to Save Energy.

Within the scope of the EU for Armenia's Sustainable Energy Program, Frynergy has already launched construction of 20 kWt and 10 kWt solar photovoltaic power systems in the area near the municipality and cultural center of the city of Aparan.

Based on Armenia’s solar maps, Aparan has sufficient resources. There are nearly 290 solar days in Aparan, and this is a major guarantee for efficiency. The community-based, autonomous solar energy system will operate along with the electric networks of Armenia and will essentially save energy for the community (energy expenditures will be cut by nearly 30%).
