Armenia is maintaining macroeconomic stability, including financial stability, and this is extremely important. This is what deputy of the Bright Armenia faction of the National Assembly, economist Arkady Khachatryan told journalists today.

According to him, the tendency to stabilize the debt is very positive. “The results of the fight against systemic corruption are visible. Armenia has reduction of shadow economy, and this implies increase of the expenditures. All this lays the foundation for deep economic reforms,” he said.

The deputy didn’t agree that increase of the budget is the result of reforms and the economic revolution. “This is not the result of active economic reforms, but the reduction of shadow economy as a result of the fight against systemic corruption, and this is thanks to the Prime Minister of Armenia,” Khachatryan emphasized, adding that envisaging 4.5-5% economic growth for the year 2020 is a serious issue that will restrict economic growth.
