A motion to reestablish detention as preventive measure for Narek Sargsyan, nephew of third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, has been filed with a court. This is what Advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia Gor Abrahamyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

On December 21, Narek Sargsyan was transported from the Czech Republic to Armenia with the accompaniment of police officers.

On June 26, 2018, the National Security Service of Armenia instituted a criminal case for illegally acquiring, selling, keeping, transferring or bearing weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive device and for realizing the illicit circulation of narcotics, psychotropic (psychoactive) substances and their precursors or preparing them or illegally selling them.

On July 6, a search was declared against Narek Sargsyan, and on July 24 — an international search. Police subdivisions, as well as the Central National Bureau of Interpol in Armenia, in cooperation with the law-enforcement authorities of European countries and Interpol, carried out extensive operational intelligence actions and, on December 6, found Narek Sargsyan in Prague. The preliminary investigation into the criminal case continues.
