The Council of Elders of Yerevan has set rates on local fees for 2020, increasing local duties on issuing building permits.

Changes were made to the procedure for issuing permits for the construction of residential buildings and structures up to 300 square meters and public and industrial buildings up to 200 square meters, and now instead of AMD 75,000 set for 2019, AMD 105,000 are provided.

The local duty for issuing a building permit with an area of ​​200-500 square meters will be AMD 210,000 instead of AMD 150,000 in 2019. The state duty for a building permit covering an area of ​​500 to 1000 square meters has been increased from AMD 250,000 to 300,000.

Ani Khachatryan, a member of the Luys faction, explained that if a citizen owns a house with an area of ​​200 square meters and wants to repair the roof, he will have to pay AMD 21,000 drams instead of the previous 15,000. “I want the citizens to clearly understand that increasing fees is aimed at increasing payments for the most the poor,” she added.

The Luys faction voted against the draft decision.
