The Tumanyan Investigative Division of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Lori Province has instituted a criminal case in relation to the deaths of four persons.

On December 25 at 1:45 p.m. the Alaverdi Medical Center CJSC received a report stating that four residents of an apartment in the Sanahin Sarahart district of the city of Alaverdi were found dead in the apartment.

An operational investigative group immediately left for the scene of the incident, inspected the apartment and found the bodies of a married couple (Yura Israelyan and Gaiane Alexanyan) and their two children (born in 2002 and 2004).

The inspection of the scene of the incident showed that the gas heater was switched on, and the gas signal security system was switched off.

A criminal case has been instituted, a forensic medicine expert examination has been designated to establish the circumstances that are essentially significant for the criminal case, and several persons have been interviewed.

Preliminary investigation is underway.
