YEREVAN. – Hraparak newspaper writes: The BA [Bright Armenia party] discussions on Davit Khazhakyan were held in two stages. The first was stormy (...) where it was demanded-suggested to put down the [Yerevan] Council of Elders’ mandate.
The main claimants were [BA MPs] Mane Tandilyan and Taron Simonyan. [BA chairman Edmon] Marukyan did not want to be the "bad guy" - he was in the role of the arbiter.
There were also [other] claimants in the party that the right thing to do is to put down the mandate. However, the objectors were more firm and recorded that Edmon and Mane’s press conferences were the reason the topic was circulated, deepening the hypothesis that [PM] Nikol's [Pashinyan] demand was being met.
"Mane had worded unsuccessfully at the press conference, which gave the impression that we were trying to shut Khazhakyan's mouth [at the Yerevan Council of Elders]," said a BA board member. "Mane was more interested in how Khazhakyan would continue his mission [there] from now on." How? "We came to the general conclusion that Khazhakyan continues not taking responsibility for the other members of the [opposition] Luys bloc [at the Yerevan Council of Elders]."
