YEREVAN. – According to a decision by Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan of Armenia, Constitutional Court President Hrayr Tovmasyan, who has served as Justice Minister between December 17, 2010 and April 3, 2014, has been included as a defendant in a criminal case under investigation by the Special Investigation Service.

This criminal case has substantiated that Tovmasyan is charged with two counts of abuse of power, together with a group of other officials, carelessly causing grave consequences with mercenary motives, the Prosecutor General's Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Based on the aforesaid and under the law on Constitutional Court, by the decision of the Prosecutor General, Hrayr Tovmasyan has been included as a defendant in the aforementioned case, on two Criminal Code counts of committing publicly dangerous acts.

The decision was sent to the body conducting the proceedings to bring charges against him.

The investigation of the criminal case is in progress.
