Armenian Prosecutor General's spokesperson Gor Abrahamyan has responded to hraparak.am publication.

According to him, hraparak.am publication on an entrepreneur requiring clarification from the prosecutor’s office in connection with the territory attributed to CC head Hrayr Tovmasyan, is circulated in social networks with various comments that are far from reality, up to groundless conclusions.

The purpose of it is to form a public opinion with a manipulative, erroneous opinion based on criminal harassment, he added.

"Firstly, the fact that judgments and conclusions are made on the basis of factual circumstances given in the materials of the criminal case with absolute lack of information about the evidence, based only on the statements of one person who appears to be an entrepreneur, testifies to the artificial excitement around the circumstance noted in the publication, persons associated with H. Tovmasyan, actually made by the husband of his wife’s sister," he added.

Based on the interests of the secrecy of the investigation, we can’t say more, however, according to materials currently collected within the criminal case, property, previously sold for AMD 52.4 million and estimated at AMD 59 million by the bank about a year and a half later, was drawn up under an deal on the sale by Hrayr Tovmasyan for only AMD 3 million addressed to the persons linked to him - the sister of his wife and her husband, he added.

It’s already clear why this person, who introduced himself as an entrepreneur, forgot to “declassify” his family ties with H. Tovmasyan.

As for the comments that the criminal prosecution was instituted even without interrogating the owner of the property de jure, this could not be carried out due to the absence of this person in Armenia.

At the same time, a request was sent twice to clarify the circumstances of the person’s presence in Armenia  (in October and November 2019), as a result of which it turned out that the latter had left Armenia on July 25, 2019, and there was no data on his return.

His intention to return to Armenia is very welcome, as this will provide an opportunity to carry out those procedural and investigative actions that could not be completed due to his absence in Armenia, the spokesperson added.

"We urge to continue to refrain from premature, unfounded statements and comments," he concluded.
