India may become the fourth largest economy in 2026 and the third largest economy in 2034, but under the condition that it succeeds in the implementation of relevant reforms. This is stated in the analytical document prepared by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), reports TASS.

Based on the forecasts of CEBR’s analysts, Japan, Germany and India will be actively competing to be the third largest economy in the world, while the US and China will be fighting for the first and second places, respectively.

In regard to the Indian Prime Minister’s intention to have a $5 trillion-dollar GDP by the year 2024, the CEBR’s experts pinpoint the fact that, according to them, the country will be able to achieve this indicator, but only in 2026.
