YEREVAN. – At its today's session, the Armenian government made a decision to increase the salaries of penitentiary staff by 30 percent.
The matter was presented by Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan, who noted that the fight against corruption risks and criminal subculture is at the core of this decision.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that the law enforcement system in Armenia should work at a new pace and momentum, stressed the importance of a new order for food procurement in the countries’ penitentiaries, and stated that the aforesaid decision would create de facto new jobs.
It was decided that the increase in these salaries would be done through internal redistribution of funds.
