On February 7, Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received a delegation led by Pierre Heilbronn, Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

First, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the fact that the EBRD 2021 annual meeting will be held in Yerevan, and highlighted the event in terms of raising the attention of the international financial and economic circles towards Armenia.

They discussed Armenia-EBRD cooperation comprising the more than €1.4bn-worth investment package and 180 projects. The EBRD Vice President noted that last year’s cooperation was one of the most successful with projects worth €118mn, and expressed hope that this trend will continue in 2020 as well. Tigran Avinyan stressed that the private sector accounts for 87% of the EBRD’s overall projects.

During the meeting the sides touched upon the Yerevan transport network program in detail. In this context, Heilbronn highlighted the role of the Deputy Prime Minister in coordinating the actions of various departments and the Yerevan city hall.

The interlocutors also touched upon the comprehensive reforms being implemented in Armenia, and Tigran Avinyan presented the public administration reforms.
