Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received a delegation led by Irina Schmidt, Vice President at DEG - German Investment and Development Company.

First, the Deputy Prime Minister attached importance to DEG's activities in Armenia. Grigoryan said this organization's involvement in the development of Armenia's private sector is a major contribution in terms of introducing up-to-date business rules and increasing transparency in the country.

Schmidt briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the successes of their 15-year-long activities in Armenia, and the main directions of DEG's future activities.

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the need to have a full capital market in Armenia, which will also promote the intensification of domestic and foreign investments. Reference was made also to the opportunities and prospects for the implementation of DEG projects in energy saving and high tech.

The Deputy Prime Minister assured that all conditions are created in Armenia for effective and favorable functioning of financial institutions in the country, as evidenced also by the macroeconomic indicators and the assessments of reputable international rating agencies.
