YEREVAN. - No economic growth was registered in Armenia in January-March 2011 as compared with the corresponding period last year.

According to a preliminary statistical report by the Armenian Statistical Service, despite no changes in economic indicators, Armenia’s economic pattern showed positive changes.

Specifically, the Armenian industry showed 5.9% growth, with 5% growth registered in trade.

A 7.4% decline in the services sector, which has the largest share in Armenia’s GDP, mainly affected the economic indicators. The agricultural sector showed a 2% decline, and construction showed a 5.2% decline.

After conducting in-depth surveys the Statistical Service will find out the reasons for a considerable decline in the services sector.
