YEREVAN. - A dust cloud covering Yerevan on Wednesday has nothing to do with Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), expert said at a press conference.

“Information that dust is a result of an incident in the NPP is untrue,” said head of Nuclear Safety Regulatory Committee at the Armenian Government Ashot Martirosyan.

The streets of Armenia’s capital are covered with dust on Wednesday which caused concern of the local residents. Rumors were spread it is connected with work of the Armenian NPP.

“The nuclear power plant is working in due course,” said Martirosyan, stressing that normal level of radiation is observed.

The second unit of the Armenian NPP has recently undergone repair and cleaning. It joined fully electricity network on Tuesday.
