YEREVAN. - Chairman of the opposition party Heritage Raffi Hovhannisyan told journalists that his conversation with Armenia’s first president, Chairman of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan on April 17 was a “private small talk.”

The two met at the Komitas Pantheon, April 17. They arrived there on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the founder of the People’s Party of Armenia Karen Demirchyan.

Raffi Hovhannisyan came up to Ter-Petrosyan and they had a 15-minute conversation, attracting others’ attention.

After the March 17 rally, sight unseen, Ter-Petrosyan and Hovhannisyan, had a debate over Ter-Petrosyan’s behavior. Ter-Petrosyan had not approached Raffi Hovhannisyan when he was on a hunger strike in Liberty Square.

That incident gave rise to recriminations.
