The Ministry of Finance of Armenia has started introducing the new electronic procurement system and plans to launch the system in 2021.

The idea of introducing a new electronic procurement system arises from the action plans of the Government of Armenia and of the 2019-23 Strategy for Reforms in the Public Finance Management System of Armenia.

Within the framework of the process, the Ministry of Finance and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have reached an initial agreement to introduce the system with the Bank’s support. In light of this, the Bank’s consultants organized a discussion at the Ministry of Finance and presented the Bank’s business model for the proposed system.

The new system will provide the opportunity to expand the scope of client users and conduct analyses and monitoring through an automated method. The aim of the change is to have an electronic procurement system that will be more modern in the region and will meet the needs of Armenia.
