Former Speaker of Georgian Parliament and Chairman of the Democratic Movement-United Georgia Party Nino Burjanadze blamed Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili for unleashing August 2008 war with South Ossetia. Burjanadze raised this issue at the meeting with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Vygaudus Ušackas.

Saakashvili bears the responsibility for the August 2008 war, Burjanadze outlined in the interview with journalists. She also emphasized Saakashvili’s statement to act same way a year after.

“We presented Lithuanian Foreign Minister the threats our country faces. Particularly, it refers to the Georgia’s stability and unity,” Burjanadze concluded.
