YEREVAN. - Yazidi people condemn the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey and call on Ankara to admit its crimes, said head of Yazidi community Aziz Tamoyan after visiting the Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims, Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports.

He stressed there are many unquestionable facts and proofs of the Genocide of Armenians and Yazidis in Ottoman Empire.

“There was a country - Erministan [Armenia] with 2.5 million population but it was destroyed as a result of barbaric acts of Turkey. Ankara should recognize and apologize for the committed crimes,” he said.

Today, April 24, Armenians throughout the world are marking the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. The atrocities claimed over 1.5 million Armenian lives.
