A torchlight procession in commemoration of Armenian Genocide victims was held near the Turkish Embassy in Tbilisi on April 23.

The participants marched to Turkey’s diplomatic representation and held a peaceful rally under the slogan “Compensation, justice, fight!” Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from Tbilisi.

“We call on the world powers to condemn and recognize the Armenian Genocide. We also encourage Georgians to join us and demand justice from Turkey,” pastor of the Armenian community Manuk Jenalyan stated in his speech.

The head of the Armenian community in Georgia Samvel Mkrtchyan said though almost a century has passed since the Armenian Genocide, nothing was forgotten.

“96 years have passed since the tragedy, but we have not forgotten what happened and we will continue our struggle," he noted.
