Stepanakert. - President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan visited Shahoumyan region on Thursday.

Bako Sahakyan convoked a working consultation in the Karvachar regional center with the participation of heads of the regional administration’s departments and discussed a wide range of issues related to the region’s socioeconomic development.

The President underlined development of Shahoumyan region was among the pivotal strategic issues for the country, taking into consideration its peculiar significance. He gave concrete instructions to the heads of corresponding structures for proper realization of the programs proceeding in the region.

Later Bako Sahakyan together with students of Artsakh and Yerevan State Universities participated in the tree planting in Karvachar, inspected the carried out construction activities in the town and attended the ceremony of launching construction of a youth camp.

The same day Bako Sahakyan left for the Kashatagh region.

Sahakyan visited milk collection point in the Vardout village and inspected the carried out activities at the site.

He convoked a working consultation with the participation of community heads of the Vardout sub-district and touched upon issues these communities face and ways of their solution.

In his speech Bako Sahakyan noted that the sub-district had all the opportunities for stable development and added it was necessary to use the existing potential rationally and raise the quality of the carried out activities to achieve tangible results.

In the Berdzor regional center the President was present at the concert given by the creative groups of the region.

NKR Premier Ara Haroutyunyan and other officials accompanied the President during his visits, NKR presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
