YEREVAN. - Armenia is annually visited by 700,000 tourists but this number should be at least tripled, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said on Friday.

Speaking at a conference with Armenian businessmen from Diaspora, Premier Sargsyan assured that tourism is a priority direction for the government.

It is necessary to develop infrastructure and reduce prices for services, Premier considers. He stressed 2 and 3 star hotels should be built in the country adding it is also necessary to establish ties with world leading tourist agencies.

“We are implementing our program step by step and expect to register 15% growth annually,” he concluded.
