YEREVAN. - Armenian first president, leader of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Tina Kaidanow on Friday.

The sides discussed ways to overcome social crisis in Armenia, particularly the possible dialogue between the ANC and the Armenian authorities, as well as a necessity to hold snap elections in the country, the press service of the ANC informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The ANC leader and Tina Kaidanow also discussed prospects for Karabakh conflict resolution and Armenia-Turkey reconciliation.

U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie l. Yovanovitch and ANC representatives Levon Zurabyan and Avetis Avagyan also attended the meeting.
