Israel supports the efforts of the OSCE “Minsk Group” Co-Chair states to achieve a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute,” Director of Central European and Eurasian Department of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Pinchas Avivi stated in an interview with Hraparak newspaper.

He commented on Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Michelle Lavon Lotem’s statement, who said Israel supports Azerbaijan’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, Azerbaijani mass media reported.

“A peace settlement of the conflict will make an important contribution to regional stability in the Caucasus and assist in making the Caucasus a region of cooperation, not confrontation. Israel welcomes the steps taken by the president of Armenia and the president of Azerbaijan to hold meetings, conversations and negotiations in order to reach an agreed-upon solution to the NK conflict. A peaceful solution to the conflict will be most highly welcomed by Israel,” he noted.
