YEREVAN. – There is obviously an agreement between the Armenian authorities and the opposition, said leader of People’s Party of Armenia Tigran Karapetyan.

He stressed the political forces have agreed on number of seats provided for the Armenian National Congress (ANC) in the next parliament.

“ANC betrayed its principles, statements regarding early elections were nothing but a game,” he said noting that the ANC will get not more than 15 seats.

According to Karapetyan, people no longer believe in any political force and no longer trust anyone. People are disappointed even with ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan, he believes. 

“People got disappointed during the March 1 rally when they came to the area with an intention to hold a sit-down strike, while ANC leader called on them to hold a sit-down rally next time.  People disappointed with Serzh Sargsyan and Levon Ter-Petrosyan will join the third party, that is our side,” he said.

Summing up, leader of People’s Party of Armenia said the next rally gathered by his party will take place on May 5.

People’s Party is headed by Tigran Karapetyan, owner of the ALM media holding. The party is not represented in the parliament. Tigran Karapetyan is a 2008 presidential candidate. His ALM TV was denied a broadcasting license last December and went off the air in January.
