YEREVAN. – Negotiations on the price of Russian [natural] gas at the border have been going on, are going on, and will go on; it will be a permanent process because, unfortunately, we do not have single institutional mechanisms for the formation of gas prices at the border. Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan on Thursday stated this in a talk with journalists.
"That is why we have included this issue on the highest agenda of the EEU. Russia is not against the principle, but the way of implementation. It is important for us now that the algorithm of the formation of the gas price is clearly conditioned and long-lasting. I personally think that the EEU platform is the best platform where that agreement shall be reached, formalized, and given a legal look,” he said.
And asked whether the natural gas agreements of 2013 should be discussed and revised, Mher Grigoryan answered: "And who said that no one deals with contract issues? When I talk about platforms and solutions, you should also sense what certainty there can be to having legal force; that is, what level of arrangements and what document there should be.”
