Germany sees record improvement in business climate index after a sharp drop at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, FT reported.

According to Munich-based Ifo, its monthly survey of about 9,000 organizations produced the strongest ever increase in its business climate index, which rose 6.5 points to 86.2 in June.

Analysts had forecast an increase of 85 points. The German business climate index has been rising for the second month in a row.

As Ifo noted, German companies could see "light at the end of the tunnel."
