Levon Kocharyan, the younger son of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, posted the following on his Facebook page:

“These past few days, the Armenian army remained at its peak once again, and once again, all us Armenians took pride in our experienced officers and brave soldiers. Unfortunately, we also grieved the loss of our deceased brothers. Taking into consideration my father’s contribution to the development of the army, I feel much prouder.

In such situations when the situation escalates on the border, we see people on social networks who start reprimanding people for posting or not posting statuses…People who haven’t stood out with anything in their lives start making nonsensical allegations against people who have proved their dedication to the homeland with their lives, not pompous speeches or selfies.

God forbid that this leads to that which we all experienced in the 1990s.

Be patriots, do what you believe is right and useful, but you don’t need to teach others how they should love the homeland.

P.S.: Patriotism is when your heroic father is sentenced under the direct command of the leader of your country who hasn’t served in the army and has nothing to do with the victories of the Armenian people, while you lead a battle against the enemy on the border that same day. I am referring to commander of the 3rd army corps of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, General Grigory Khachaturov.

I respect those who shaped our victories.”
