Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today convened a consultation devoted to the report on the activities carried out by the Ministry of Finance in 2019.

Minister Atom Janjughazyan reported on the activities in the areas of tax and budget policy, effective financial management, public debt management, introduction of an accounting system, improvement of the capacities of public administration bodies through training courses and optimization of structural subdivisions.

The reforms of the ministry, including reforms in the taxation and procurement systems and cooperation with international financial organizations were also touched upon.

Prime Minister Pashinyan attached importance to the programs that the ministry is implementing in the aforementioned directions and highlighted the need for ongoing and consistent implementation of the actions targeted at effective financial management. In particular, Pashinyan stressed the importance of the introduction of additional and necessary mechanisms for timely implementation of the actions envisaged by the state budget expenditure plan which will allow for the expenditures and management of funds be more predictable during the year.
