Representatives of the opposition political parties in the German parliament have called on their government to follow France's lead and ban the Turkish extremist Gray Wolves organization’s activities in Germany, DW reported.

Cem Ozdemir, a representative The Greens party, said he considered the Gray Wolves to be the largest right-wing extremist organization—with 20,000 members—in Germany.

According to Ozdemir, the Gray Wolves are accountable for hundreds of murders in Turkey, but their actions are not limited to that country. "They also threaten the Turkish opposition and minorities in Germany. Certainly, the right-wing Turkish extremists must not be allowed to intimidate, beat or threaten civilians in central Berlin, in Dortmund or Hamburg. The German government must protect those people," Cem Ozdemir added.
