The Yerevan court on Monday ruled the detention of former ruling Republican Party of Armenia  MP Vahram Baghdasaryan as illegal, and denied the motion to arrest him, Baghdasaryan's lawyer Vahram Gasparyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The issue of the legality of Vahram Baghdasaryan's detention and the motion for his being arrested were examined together.

Baghdasaryan has been charged under the Criminal Code articles on usurping power, plotting the assassination of a state, political or public figure, and keeping illegal weapons and ammunition.
