The four-day regular sessions have gotten underway at the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia. There are two matters on the agenda, and one of them is the draft budget for 2021.

But the parliamentary opposition, represented by the Bright Armenia and the Prosperous Armenia factions, demands to convene a special session to debate on the need for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

They insist on the resignation of the Prime Minister, noting his incompetence. According to the opposition MPs, the Commander-in-Chief of Armenia could not fulfill his task, he lost the war in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), and handed over Shushi, the second largest city of Artsakh.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
