YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, and he introduced the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Ayvazyan to the Ministry staff.

First, the PM thanked outgoing FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan for his work done during this difficult period. "Of course, we are in a very complicated and difficult period, when if we consider that in some way the military overload is decreasing due to known circumstances, the diplomatic overload is increasing accordingly, and the ‘diplomatic front’ is the most important and overloaded now," the PM added in particular.

Also, Pashinyan stressed the importance of formulating of the issues because, according to him, sometimes they have problems formulating these issues.

Then he wished Ara Ayvazyan success in his activities as the FM of Armenia.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Pashinyan wished all of Armenia’s diplomats success in their future activities, and stressed the importance of establishing and strengthening of state institutions that will serve the interests of the Armenian state and the people.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
