The World Health Organization team of experts investigating the COVID-19 origin have arrived at a seafood market in Wuhan on Sunday, where the coronavirus was first identified, Reuters reported.

The team of experts arrived in Wuhan on Sunday afternoon, accompanied by security. Additional barricades were erected around the market.

Public access to the market has been severely restricted since it closed early last year. Before closing, it was a bustling market with hundreds of stalls divided into sections selling meat, seafood, and vegetables.

Some Chinese diplomats and state media have said they believe the market is not the COVID-19 origin. They have supported theories that the virus presumably originated in another country.
