People who spread false information about the army and the country’s national security need to be strictly punished. This is what Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Arman Sargsyan said during a discussion on the report on implementation of the 2020 Action Plan of the Government held as part of today’s session of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly.
According to him, if people see that a person is held criminally liable for spreading false information and panic by claiming that he or she is supposedly patriotic, they will stop doing that.
Sargsyan added that there is chaos and panic on the Internet and is certain that citizens themselves need to condemn those who spread wrong information about safety and the situation in the army. However, Sargsyan shut an eye on the fact that Nikol Pashinyan and his team would discredit the Armed Forces and exaggerate information about any incident for years before they came to power.
